Honda has announced the pricing details for the new CBR250R for the Indian market and the figures will make for a pleasant reading.

The Non-ABS version of the CBR250R has been priced at a very competitive Rs 1.43 Lakhs while the ABS equipped version will come for Rs 1.68 Lakhs! The pricing is just spot on for a motorcycle which has been reviewed and praised all around even when compared to the only other 250cc bike in the market, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, which is twice as expensive.

With this pricing Honda may have started another round of price wars in the industry with other manufacturers like Yamaha and Bajaj already readying their competitors for this space. Watch out this space for more!

Jaguar today launched the all new Diesel XF in India. This follows the launch of the highly acclaimed 5.0L naturally aspirated petrol XF and the supercharged XFR in 2009.

The new XF comes with the 3.0 liter AJ-V6 Diesel S engine developing an impressive 275 ps of maximum power and mammoth 600 nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed ZF 6HP28 automatic transmission which offers smooth shifts to complement the efficient and refined powerplant.

The result of all that power and torque is Exo X busting performance with all the grace and pace that Jaguar is renowned for and all this while sipping the sticky cheaper fuel! The XF Diesel S accelerates from 0-100 kph in just 6.4 seconds compared to 6.6 seconds for the recently launched EVo X!

The XF Diesel S also comes with technologies such as JaguarDrive Selector, JaguarDrive Control, Jaguar Sequential Shift and Dynamic Stability Control with Trac DSC mode. Inside the new XF Diesel S offers soft grain leather seats, Phosphor Blue halo illumination and interior mood lighting, seven-inch full colour touch-screen display and Jaguar Smart Key System^TM with Keyless Entry and Start.

The model has been customized by Jaguar engineers in UK specially for the Indian market with increased ride height to cope with Indian road conditions and a non DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) engine.

The new XF Diesel S has been priced at a competitive Rs 48.37 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

Every boy racer’s dream car is here! Mitsubishi has launched the Lancer EVO X in the Indian market today at Autocar Performance Show at MMRDA grounds Mumbai.

The EVO X comes to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and as a result has been priced at Rs 49.9 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom, Delhi. The X (read 10th) edition of the Lancer Evolution for India will be powered by a 2.0 liter engine strapped with with a huge turbocharger generating 291 bhp of maximum power!

The car will do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 6.6 seconds and is capable of a top speed of more than 250 kmph!

Lamborghini has officially ceased the production of its Murcielago supercar.

Launched way back in 2001, the Murcielago is one of the most revered supercar of our times with production spanning almost a decade. The last Murcielago to leave the factory gates is the LP670-4 SuperVeloce which is the 4099th car built at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. The car is painted “Arancio Atlas” paint and will be shipped off to a swiss customer.

The replacement for the Murcielago is already in final stages of development and will make it public debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show in March

One of the most successful super sports cars of all time takes a bow – the last Murciélago to be produced bears the number 4,099

It is one of the most stunning and successful super sports cars of all time – the Lamborghini Murciélago. And that will always be the case, even if its production life has now come to an end. At the headquarters of the badge bearing the sign of the bull in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the last Murciélago left the production line on May 11, 2010 – headed to a Swiss customer. With “Arancio Atlas” paintwork, the LP 670-4 Superveloce proudly bears the production number 4,099. This makes the Murciélago not only by far the most-produced Lamborghini twelve-cylinder of all time, but also one of the world’s most successful super sports cars.

The „end of production” of the Murciélago was celebrated in the factory on November 5, 2010, with a special exhibition of the most iconic V12 cars of Lamborghini’s history, followed by a parade in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
Supersportcars like the 350 GT, the Miura, the Countach and the Diablo escorted a Murciélago SV of the Lamborghini Museum during a symbolic “last ride” out of the gate of the Lamborghini factory.

“For almost a decade, the Murciélago was the icon of the Lamborghini brand, and it was enormously successful in the process,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “The Murciélago embodies the pure, unadulterated values of our brand. It is truly extreme, uncompromising and unmistakably Italian. This already makes it one of the legends of the sports car world. But the Lamborghini story continues. In 2011, we will take a huge step into the future with the successor to the Murciélago – with the most innovative technology and, once again, truly stunning design.”

The Lamborghini Murciélago is a super sports car of menacing character and brutal power. And at its presentation in 2001, it opened a new chapter for the Lamborghini brand – with state-of-the-art technology and outstanding product quality, but most especially, with a new, timelessly modern design philosophy. To this day, the purist form of the Murciélago still exudes enormous sensuality. Broad and low, with a cockpit set well forward and a long, taut back – the interplay of its calm underlying form and razor sharp edges is unique, as are its vertically opening “scissor” doors.

Augmenting the Murciélago is the Murciélago Roadster. With 640 hp under perfect control and no roof above – there is no more sensuous way to experience movement; every kilometer is a journey into the eye of the hurricane. As a roadster, too, the Murciélago knows no compromise. Its roof is nothing more than protection from the elements.

The extreme design was accompanied from the very start by phenomenal performance, razor-sharp handling and outstanding high-speed stability. The Murciélago has always been the ultimate driving machine for advanced sports car drivers. In its first generation, it featured a V12 with 6.2 liters of displacement and 580 hp, mounted longitudinally in front of the rear axle. In the second generation, the Murciélago LP 640, displacement rose to 6.5 liters and output to 640 hp.

And even this was subject to further refinement – Lamborghini works tirelessly on the ongoing development of its models. This year, the arrival of the Murciélago LP 670-4 Superveloce – with output increased to 670 hp, weight reduced by a further 100 kilograms and an even hotter design – marked an impressive finale to the story of this super sports car. The performance figures for the Superveloce are nothing short of breathtaking – in only 3.2 seconds, the SV is catapulted to 100 km/h. Not until 342 km/h do power and drag call a halt to the proceedings.

With the construction of the Murciélago, Lamborghini demonstrated its extraordinary expertise in lightweight engineering and in working with high-tech carbon-fiber composite materials. From the very start, the structure of this super sports car has been a mix of extremely stiff carbon-fiber components attached to a steel frame – as in a race car. Center tunnel and floorpan are made from carbon-fiber, as are the majority of the exterior panels and many interior components. Lamborghini has significantly developed this lightweight philosophy for the successor to the Murciélago.

4,099 units of the Lamborghini Murciélago were built between 2001 and 2010 in Sant’Agata Bolognese – an impressive number, and not only in comparison to its predecessors the Miura, Countach and Diablo. Bearing the special production number, the final one to be produced is, of course, an LP 670-4 Superveloce, sporting a large rear wing and “Arancio Atlas” paintwork. The final car has been delivered to a customer in Switzerland. Even though many sports car fans around the world are sure to mourn the passing of the Murciélago, Lamborghini is ready to start the next all-new chapter in the story of the super sports car in 2011 with its successor – welcoming the arrival of a new automotive legend…

Hyosung with its partner Garware Motors have announced the launch of GT650R sportsbike and ST7 Cruiser for the Indian market.

The bikes will come to India via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and will be assembled at Garware Motor’s new setup assembly line facility in Wai, neat Pune, Maharashtra.

Hyosung will initially bring only two bikes, the fully faired GT650R and the ST7 Cruise with the naked GT650 in due course. Although no concrete prices have been announced, the company officials did hint at sub 5 lakhs rupee price tag for the GT650R on road and around 7 lakhs for the ST7 Cruiser on road.

The company is also serious about the after sales service aspect unlike its earlier partnership with Kinetic Motors when it launched the ill fated Comet 250 and will provide mobile service backup to all its customers along with a service at home option. The bikes will be sold in 10 major cities initially with incremental launch for the other cities.

Bookings for the Hyosung GT650R and ST7 will start early next year with deliveries commencing from the first quarter of 2011.

One of the fastest and most expensive hypercar is in town and it can be your’s for a cool 16 Cr! As we said earlier, Volkswagen Group Co. Bugatti has launched the ‘Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport’ at a starting price of Rs 16 Cr making it the most expensive car on sale right now in India.

The car will be distributed by company’s only Indian dealer, Exclusive Motors which is also the sole distributor of Bentley and Lamborghini in India.

“The price of the car will be subject to foreign exchange fluctuation and the levels of customization that a buyer demands” said Satya Bangla, Managing Director, Exclusive Motors.

The car will be delivered in around 6-8 months from the date of order.

Bugatti Veyron is powered by a 8 liter Quad Turbo W16 engie delivering 1000 bhp and is capable of doing 0-100 kph in just 2.7 seconds with a top speed on the brighter side of 407 kph!

Honda’s 250cc bike for India  is confirmed and its the all new CBR250R which is being unveiled to the world media today.

The bike in question, the new 2011 Honda CBR250R is being unveiled, as we speak, to the world media at an event in Thailand’s Golf Circuit. The new bike will make its public debut at the 2010 EICMA at Milan on November 2nd.

Also, our friends at Motoroids are claiming that Honda Two wheelers India is aiming at a price tag of under 1.5 lakhs by heavily localizing most of the components and will launch the bike in 2011. If its true then we are in for a big old treat!

Korea’s Hyosung Motors is readying for its second innings in India with the launch GT650R and ST7 tomorrow.

The company is best known in India for its 250cc bike Comet which was launched in collaboration with erstwhile Kinetic two wheelers which has now been taken over by Mahindra two wheelers. The company has collaborated with Garware group this time to bring their bikes to India.

First up is the Hyosung GT650R which is a fully faired bike and comes powered by a liquid cooled 8-valve 90 degrees v-twin 647 cc engine developing 54.2kW @ 9000 rpm and a maximum 60.9 nm of torque @ 7250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6 speed transmission.

The Hyosung ST7 on the other hand is a tourer bike and come powered by a slightly larger liquid cooled 8-valve 90 degrees v-twin 678 cc engine developing maximum power of 46 kW @ 8000 rpm and 57.3 nm of maximum torque @ 7000 rpm.  The engine is coupled with a 5 speed transmission.

The bikes will be launched tomorrow and will be priced in Rs 5.5 Lakhs to 6.5 Lakh bracket. Stay tuned to Autoholiks for more information.

Bugatti Veyron needs no introduction. A mere mention of the name conjures up images of a 8.0 liter Quad-Turbo W16 engine powered nuclear submarine errrrr car blasting down a German autobahn at 400+ kmph!

With the kind of roads and traffic that we drive on in India, Bugatti Veyron will be a bit of an overkill, actually more than a bit, but that isn’t stopping the company from launching it in India. Yes sir, one of the most hallowed supercar no hypercar on the planet is coming to India and is coming later this month.

According to sources close to the development, the car is likely to cost 12 crores Indian rupees and has already attracted a couple of buyers in the country. The car will be sold through Exclusive Motors which is also the sole distributor of Bentley and Lamborghini in India.

“The car is slated for launch soon but we cannot disclose its price and other specifications,” said Satya Bagla, managing director of Exclusive Motors.

Italian hypercar maker, Pagani has revealed its one-off special edition Zonda 750.

Commissioned by an unnamed client in middle east, the new Pagani Zonda 750 is based on the exclusive Cinque roadster of which only five have been made along with a number of bespoke editions.

The latest Zonda 750 comes with the same 7.3 liter V12 engine which may be developing 750 horsepower instead of the regular 678 to match its name. The bespoke edition also comes with a purple paint job and matching purple interiors. The car also has a different rear window design.

The Cinque roadster, on which the new 750 is based, 0-60 mph time is rated in low 3 seconds and the lateral ‘g’ is rated at a maximum 1.45 g. We expect the new 750 to equal, if not better it.

The car is currently under construction for its middle east client.
