
Nissan is off to a veritable flyer in India with its small car, the Micra. The company has sold 928 units of Micra in the Indian market in the month of July which is very impressive considering it was launched just 15 days back.
Total sales for the month stand at 1005 units helped by 27 units of the luxury sedan Teana and 50 units of the crossover SUV, the X-Trail. The company has already received 3000 bookings for the new Micra, a number which according to the company is steadily growing.
Commenting on the July sales, NMIPL managing Director and CEO Kiminobu Tokuyama said “This was just the beginning and Nissan India are happy and delighted at the initial response that the Micra has received from the Indian customers.”
Nissan has also announced the opening of five more dealerships – Lucky Nissan – Vijayawada; CI Nissan – Bhopal; Royal Nissan – Jaipur; Ananta Nissan – Bhubaneswar and Orion Nissan – Navi Mumbai taking the total number of Nissan dealerships in India to 20. The company will also add 10 more dealer very shortly.
