Honda Jazz X Variant Launch Tomorrow

Honda Siel Motors will launch a new variant of the Jazz, the most expensive locally built hatchback in the country, in a bid to arrest declining sales which have dropped down to few hundred every month now.

To be christened the Jazz X, the new variant will come with extra features as standard but not without a catch. The catch is the price increase which is expected to be in the region of INR 30,000, which will make the already costliest hatch even costlier.

The new features on the Jazz include the following:

  • USB Port for the Audio System
  • Driver Seat Height Adjustment
  • Parcel Tray for the boot
  • New Blue and Black Upholstery for the interiors
  • 5-Spoke Gun Metal Finished Alloy Wheels
  • Front Fog Lamps
  • New Rallye Red Color

Although Honda has tried to address some of the criticism by providing extra features but those extra features come at a price which don’t address Jazz’ biggest weakness – its pricing. It still remains the costliest mainstream hatchback in the country and now ever closer to the Honda City which is an all important sedan and comes with a bigger 1.5 liter i-Vtec engine and almost similar interior features. How the market responds to this new Honda offering remains to be seen, but if it fails, we won’t be surprised.

Stay tuned for more updates.
