As we told you earlier, Fiat has launched the much awaited Punto 90 HP in the Indian market which attempts to address the ‘underpowered’ opinions some people had about the car.
Christened the Punto 90 HP, the car comes powered by the VGT version of the 1.3 Multijet engined which is also found under the engine bay of the bigger Linea. Maximum power is now rated 90 bhp @ 4000 rpm and maximum torque is now upto 209 nm @ 2000 rpm.
The update to the engine apart from the flat out performance gains and improved driveability also brings also changes to the insides and outside. Interior changes include the new instrument console now lifted from Linea with silver background against black, improved quality for the interiors, nicer feeling surface finish for the dashboard plastics and sporty red stitching for the front seats while changes to the exteriors is limited to chrome door handles.
The Grande Punto 90 HP has been launched only in the Emotion Pack trim and has been priced at Rs 6.79 Lakhs Ex-Showroom, New Delhi, which means a premium of over 30k’s over the normal variant which is a bit too much in our opinion but is a good move none the less.
