Audi has started the local assembly of the Q5 crossover at its Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra. This is Audi’s third locally assembled model in India after the A4 and the A6 sedans.
The company is planning to produce up to 1500 units of the Q5 depending on the demand.
According to Frank Dreves, Board Member (Production), Audi India
The production of the Q5 is part of our long-term growth strategy in India. The Indian market for automobiles will grow very rapidly, and the Q5 is the right automobile at the right time.
Audi has produced 2000 units since it started production in September 2007 and expects to reach 6000 units by the year 2015.
