According to the latest buzz going around, Toyota is expected to launch the Corolla diesel 1.4 on 21st July 2010. The official word earlier suggested a August launch date which we reported here.
Corolla diesel will come powered by a 1.4 liter turbocharged common rail diesel engine which develops 90 ps of maximum power mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which will ensure ideal ratio spread and has a ARAI certified fuel consumption figure of 21.42 kmpl.
Toyota may also use this opportunity to introduce the facelifted Corolla which was recently unveiled in Europe recently with new bumper, headlights and tail lights.
The new Corolla diesel is expected to be priced Rs 75,000 to Rs 100,000 more than the equivalent petrol version and will be available in 3 trim levels.
