Polo is doing well for VW in India
Volkswagen just had their best sales month ever since the company started operations in India in April 2010.
The company has reported total sales of 1489 units in the month of April but an even better news is the increase in sales across the product lines. Volkswagen Jetta sales have increased 150% on a month on month basis while the Passat sales have increased by 85% in April 2010 when compared to April 2009. On yearly basis VW Jetta has clocked a growth of 43% and Passat 86% in the Jan-Apr quarter.
The CBU sales including the Beetle for the period Jan-Apr 2010 were an impressive 226 units and for the SUV Touareg were 69 for the same period.
VW’s recently launched Polo hatchback has also recieved good response throughout the country so far clocking sales of 1599 units. The company has already received 7,300 confirmed bookings for the Polo which currently has a waiting period of 3-4 months.

The company is now getting ready to launch the sedan variant of the Polo which will be christened the Vento for the Indian market. The Vento will come to India in July with pricing expected to be in the range of 7-9 Lakhs.
