Mercedes Benz has launched a stripped down variant its E Class, called the E250 CDI Classic in India. The move comes after BMW launched its 5-Series F10 in India recently which is priced at a mouthwatering Rs 38.9 Lakhs for the 523i.
The car has been priced at Rs 46.18 Lakhs on-road Mumbai and lets go of features like sliding sunroof, Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED driving lamps and simpler looking 16 inch alloy wheels.
The interiors are now grey in color and come with Eucalyptus wood trim and a traditional gear lever instead of gear selector stalk for the 5-Speed Automatic transmission. The paddle shifter are also absent.
This will be the new base model in the E-Class range in India and is powered by the same 2143cc Inline 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 201 bhp of maximum power but a whopping 51 kgm of torque.
The new E250 CDI Classic has been priced at INR 40,20,000 Ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
