Toyota has quietly launched the facelifted Corolla (sold in India as Corolla Altis) for the European market close on the heels of the upgraded Auris launch.
The new model gets subtle changes to the exteriors and the interiors in a typically Toyota fashion. The front gets new front bumper, fog lamps and front grille which has the same basic shape but is slightly sharper and has 3 slats instead of the earlier two. The rear also gets new bumper and tail lights which are less bulbous than the current one’s.

The company says that the new changes emphasize on ‘creating an appearance of greater width’
The upgraded interiors consist of a flat bottomed steering wheel with redesigned cross-section in interests of comfort, white lightening for the speedometer and odometer console which themselves are a bit different by integrating the multi-info display in the center of the dials and silver finish for some interiors trims and door handles. Toyota has also added wireless trunk opening via button on the ignition key for added convenience of its customers. That apart, the interiors can now be ordered with option of two color schemes – dark grey and light gray both of which feature Alcantara upholstery for upmarket look.
The India Corolla Altis is due for a facelift soon and we expect the same changes to make their way into the Indian model very soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
