Maruti Suzuki has launched the all new WagonR in a grand ceremony held today in New Delhi.
The regular at autoholiks would already know how it looks like and what are the specifications. For the un-initiated, the new WagonR is a completely new product inside out and has nothing in common with the car it replaces.
The car is powered by a three cylinder 1.0 litre K-series engine which develops a modest 67 bhp and 90 nm of torque but makes up for it by being highly fuel efficient. The ARAI certified rating for this engine is 18.9 kmpl.
One of the major grouse with the current car was the horrid gearshift which Maruti has taken care of by employing a brand new 5-speed gearbox with detent pin technology which provides smoother more precise shit action.
The new WagonR comes in three variants LX, LXi and the VXi. The top end VXI variant comes with all four power windows, rear wash and wipe + defogger, storage trays under the front seats, dashboard integrated CD/MP3 player with AUX-In and electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors.
We will cover the WagonR in more details in our succesive posts. Stay tuned!

There us a typo in 3rd para. Should read as “Shift” but missing a “F”.
