Giant Killer: Audi Q7 4.2 V8 TDI Quattro Launched In India

No longer a gentle giant!

Audi has announced the launch of Q7 4.2 V8 TDI  Quattro to commemorate three years of company’s operations in India.  The new 4.2 litre V8 TDI diesel engine makes the already largest selling luxury SUV in the Indian market even more desirable.

The Audi Q7 4.2 TDI V8 when launched was the most powerful diesel engined SUV in the world and while that is not true now a days, it certainly is the most powerful diesel engined SUV in India.  Displacing 4.2 litres via 8 cylinders in ‘V’ configuration, the direct injected common rail turbocharged engine develops a heady 335 bhp of maximum power @ 4000 rpm but more importantly a gargantuan 760 nm of torque between 1750-3000 rpm! That more torques than some of the high lugging trucks! The performance number are equally biblical with 0-100 kph dispatched in 6.4 seconds flat and a top speed of 240 kmph. For such performance and power the fuel efficiency is truly remarkable @ 9.9 litres per 100 kms!

The Q7 already comes with three existing engine options – 3.0 TDI Quattro, 3.6 FSI Quattro and the 4.2 FSI Quattro.

Audi Q7 4.2 TDI V8 has been priced at INR 58,68,000 Ex-Showroom Mumbai for limited period after which it will retail for Rs 66,12,500 Ex-Showroom, Mumbai and is available at Audi dealerships across India.
