If reports from Auto International are to be believed, we will be looking at the all new Passat at the Paris Motor show in September this year. The sedan and its wagon variant could go on sale as early as end of this year across European dealerships.
The new Passat will have the same basic structure as the current car but for the redesigned body work and will go a little higher up in the luxury department. The new model will offers niceties such as reverse cameras, active cruise control and intelligent lightening.
The new Passat will feature sharper handling and quieter interiors and will powered by a range of force inducted petrol and diesel engines ranging from 1.2 to 2.0 litre engine capacities. The base Passat will come with the award winning 1.2 litre TSi unit with 105 bhp of maximum power while the top of the range petrol will feature 2.0 litre TFSi engine with 211 bhp having almost the same performance as the earlier 3.2 V6 which will no longer see the engine bay of Passat. A hybrid and electric version will come in future with the next full redesign planned for the year 2015.
