Spy photographers at worldcarfans.com have managed to snap the pictures of the new S Class Coupe undergoing winter testing, almost uncovered.
The model will replace the CL class and will be called S-Class Coupe as Mercedes is looking to simply model nomenclature for its coupe models just like the E Class coupe. The new S Class Coupe will come with a modified front fascia which will include new headlamps with now omnipresent daytime running lights, new front bumper and grille and new air intake. The rear bumper has also been slightly reprofiled to correspond to the changes in front.
The engine options will be the same as the S-Class including the range topping 5.5 Litre V8. The 3.0 Litre Diesel BlueEfficiency model will also be offered. There are chances that a powertrain based on the S400 Hybrid which marries a 3.5 litre 279 ps V6 with 20 ps electric motor will also be offered.
The insides will be updated with the new SPLITVIEW monitor, improved COMAND system and updated Night View Assist system which can now also detect pedestrians.
