Force India F1 driver Adrian Sutil has topped the timesheet in the first free practice session for the Formula 1 2010 season at Bahrain Circuit in Sakhir.
The Mercedes Benz powered VJM03 showed stunning pace enabling Adrian to finish first ahead of the second placed Ferrari of Fernando Alonso which was three-tenths slower for most part of the session only coming back in the final hot lap of the day finishing one-tenths slower. Renault Robert Kubica finished at third position ahead of Alonso’s team mate Felipe Massa with McLaren’s Jenson Button rounding off the top five drivers of the day.
The other McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton finished sixth followed by Force India’s Vitantonio Luizzi which was just .03 of a second slower confirming the genuine pace of the 2010 Force India F1 car.
Seven times world F1 chamption Michael Schumacher finished a decent 10th, two places behind his team mate Nico Rosberg who finished on 8th position.
Vijay Mallya owned Force India F1 team is on an upward climb ever since the pole position at Spa last year which saw Fisichella finishing second behind Kimi’s Ferrari.
Hispania racing’s Karun Chandok who will be making his F1 debut this season failed to record a hot lap due to a mechanical failure.
