
It seems only yesterday when the current generation Mercedes Benz S-Class was launched and the facelift which was revealed only last year but all this doesnt stop the hallowed three pointer company to work on the next generation of the uber executive saloon.
The pictures you see here (courtesy: motorauthority.com) are of the next generation S-Class which will be launched in 2012 as a 2013 model. The test mule was spied testing near company’s headquarter in Germany. Like it is with every next generation iteration, the new S-Class will expectedly be slightly longer and wider and will come with a raft of fuel efficient next gen engine options including a plug in hybrid option.
While the details are still very scarce, the company’s R&D boss Dr Thomas Weber announced in December a new family of engines christened “MoVe” which stands for modular V6 and V8 that will rely on force induction and direct injection technology to deliver gains in power, efficiency and reduced emissions.

Dr Weber had also previously revealed that the plug in hybrid powertrain fromVision S500 Plug-in hybrid concept will also appear in the next generation S-Class and promise sub 6 seconds sprint from 0-100 kph and a whopping fuel efficiency rating of 70 mpg or even better!
The styling will take inspiration from the F700 concept car and will feature futuristic technology to keep the latest S-Class ahead of the pack. The technologies include the PRE-SCAN active suspension set-up and SERVO-HMI virtual operating system.

The hood perceives as being lengthier than the previous model and also the seats come across a tid bit pushed back. The side mirrors will be joined to the exterior doors through thinner bars.
