No plans to upgrade Palio for BSIV

Could this be an end for Palio in India ?

Surely a disappointment for all palio owners, the company has no plans to upgrade Palio for BSIV norms. This means it will be phased out from all those cities which have BSIV norms implemented.  Clearly a move to focus on its much better selling hatch  “The Gorgeous Punto”. Maruti 800 recently had a similar fate when the company announced that there are no plans to upgrade for BSIV.

It feels sad to see cars which have been part of us for such a long time to go off the Indian roads but in a way it feels good too that environmental concerns are being addressed.
