
Following Honda’s 6.46 Lakh units recall of Honda City and Jazz globally due to faulty power window switch, Honda Siel Cars India announced that it will recall 8532 units of Honda City ZX manufactured in the year 2007. Company clarified that 3rd generation Honda City and Jazz are unaffected with this recall.
The problem identified is with the driver side power window switch which starts to smoke when water enters in heavy rains. Although none of the Indian model has been identified with this problem but company will carry out the replacement to avoid any mishap.
The company will be identifying all the owners and call them directly. The owners might have to wait as much as 3 weeks for the replacement till then the owners need not panic and can continue to drive their cars. The replacement will be carried of without any charge and is a 2 minutes job
“HSCI is carrying out the part replacement as part of a global exercise by Honda Motor Company to ensure stringent quality standards for its products. The replacement would be carried out free of cost and HSCI will communicate directly with the owners of the cars which are covered under this part replacement,” said Jnaneswar Sen, VP, Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India.
“We never compromise on safety. We always proactively try to resolve any potential problem,” said Jnaneshwar Sen, vice-president (marketing) of Honda Siel
“We will start notifying the customers to bring the vehicles to the dealerships when the parts reach us,” said Mr Sen. “It will take less than 2 minutes to replace the faulty switches.”
