After Bajaj’s foray into the lifestyle biking segment with the Ninja 250R, Honda two wheelers India is planning to debut in the 250cc space by launching CBX Twister 250cc by Diwali this year.
The bike is expected to be priced in the region of Rs 1.5 Lakh rupees and will sport a four stroke 250cc single cylinder engine developing a healthy 24 bhp of maximum power.
According to sources the R&D work on the bike is complete and trial run for production is expected to begin in the next three months. TVS is also planning to launch a 220cc bike in the burgeoning 200cc+ biking segment in India.
Although not comparable to the recently launched Kawasaki Ninja 250R, the Twister is expected to have good touring capabilities along with trademark Honda virtues like faultless engine and transmission. The touring population in India is on rise is currently dominated by the Hero Honda Karzima whose USP is the smooth long stroke ultra reliable Honda engine which gives it long legged touring capabilities.
Honda is also planning to launch upgraded Unicorn and also update the Shine and Stunner models before paving way for the all new 110cc CB Twister which is a stylish commuter and will carry a premium price tag.
The company is planning to sell around 2.2 lakh units by the year 2011 raising its market share from the current 13% to 15%

It needs a lot of work to run in the market .They should give it a rear disc break ,Digital speedometer ,increase the bhp and change the tail piece to resemble that of CB300r. This bike was the best in brazil cbx250 twister was replaced by cb300r in brazil.
