Close on the heels of the S500 launch a month earlier, Mercedes Benz have now launched the 2010 S350 and the S350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY in India.
The S350 comes with a 3498 cc V6 petrol engine which delivers a maximum of 272 bhp of power @ 6300 rpm and 345 nm of maximum torque @ 4500 rpm. The S350 CDI debuts the BlueEFFICIENCY powertrain in the engine bay of the S Class. The 2987 cc V6 turbocharged common rail diesel engine develops 210 bhp of maximum power @ 4000rpm and a healthy 490 nm of maximum torque @ 1600-1800 rpm.
The highlights of the S Class 2010 include
1) Multicolor Ambient Lightening
2) LED Light Package
3) Climatronic Seats (Can be heated or cooled depending on the weather)
4) Advanced parking guidence with ultrasonic sensors
5) SPLITVIEW technology for the touchscreen which allows two views on a single screen where in driver and front passenger can view different things simultaneously on the screen (aka the screen on the latest Range Rover). A wireless headphone with remote is also provided so that co-passenger can view and listen to his choice without affecting the focus of the driver.
6) Redesigned rear screens with remote controls and 2 wireless headphones.
7) Standard message function for the rear seats.
